The overall goal of nasal recontruction is the restoration or refinement of nasal form and function.
Performing nasal reconstruction procedures to repair deformities resulting from side-effect after filler injection, trauma or tumor resection, congenital defects, car accidents or previous surgeries.
Any of the structurally important layers of the nos(skin, cartilaginous framework, inner lining) that are missing must be reconstructed.
Surgeon use rib cartilage, ear cartilage or ear skin-cartilage to make nose cartilage and supporting structure.
And use skin of forehead or nasolabial fold to recontrct nose skin and mucous.
If reconstruction range is small, also can use skin of nose.
Nasal recontruction surgery might necessitate additional aesthetic purposed surgery after the first one.
Generally, when skin of forehead or nasolabial fold is used, surgery of cutting connection part of flapped skin is required after 3 weeks.
If necessary, simple correction for aesthetic purpose is made 6 months later.
Recovery and follow up
It takes up to six months for your body to completely heal.
But most of patients return to work or school.
If you go to work or school, you will need to come back to the office to have sutures or your splint removed by Surgeon or staff of clinic.
It is very important that you follow your surgeon’s intructions after surgery to allow for the smoothest recovery.
