“If Cleopatra’s nose had been shorter, the whole history of the world would have changed.”
Today, we are going to tell you about short nose (upturned nose tip) correction with rhinoplasty.
“What shape of nose that we can call short nose?”
When we divide our face into trisection as above, ideal ratio of nose is 1/3.
But if nasal ratio is under 1/3, we can call it as short nose.
The ideal angle between nasal tip and upper lips is 90 ~ 100 degree.
However, if this angle is over 100 degree, we can call it as short or upturned nose tip.
This short nose and upturned nose tip can corrected with rhinoplasty.
This is one of case of short nose tip correction.
This nose job conducted by Dr. Cho Bae-Jung (KOKO PLASTIC SURGERY CLINIC)
Before she had a rhinoplasty, her nose was very short.
To make her nose tip longer, Dr. Cho did a tip plasty using donated rib cartilage.
When does nasal tip plasty, generally use nose septal cartilage, but her septal cartilage also was short. So, was not available to use.
“Note: Since Nasal tip has thin skin, artificial implant is not a good material for nose tip plasty.“
This is oblique angle of before and after.
This after photo taken on sixth days after surgery.
KOKO plastic surgery clinic removes nasal splint and stitches on sixth days after surgery date.
As you can see, her nose tip has changed to longer in ideal angle and shape.
“Dr. Cho mentioned that he made her tip length as considering her nasal skin elasticity as well. Because if too longer than the available of elasticity of the nose skin, can cause problems.”
This is frontal view of before and after.
